I use acrylic paints, mostly Liquitex Soft Body Acrylics.

I ship internationally — shipping costs will vary depending on your location. Exact shipping costs will be provided once you're interested in having a painting created.

How do I place an order for a custom commission?
Email me at alanfanningart@gmail.com with some images of the pet you'd like painted, and I’ll give you more details from there.

What is the commission process after booking?
No deposit is necessary. After reviewing your pet’s photos, I’ll suggest the best image to use as a reference for the painting. If you're happy with that, it will take me between 1–3 weeks to complete the artwork, depending on how busy I am with other projects. Payment can be made via PayPal or bank transfer. Once completed, the painting will be shipped. Shipping times depend on your local postal service, but generally, paintings arrive within 2–7 days.

Can you paint any kind of animal?
Absolutely! Pets aren’t just limited to cats and dogs. I can paint any animal you consider a pet — horse, mouse, snake, duck, you name it. I’d love to bring them to life on canvas.

How long does it take to complete a portrait?
Between 1–3 weeks, depending on the size, complexity, and how many other projects I have at the time. I keep you updated throughout the process to make sure you’re happy with how the artwork is progressing.

What kind of photo is best for a portrait?
As you can see from the examples below, I prefer head-on shots and high-resolution images to best capture your pet’s likeness. Close-up photos with the pet looking at the camera work really well. That said, it doesn’t need to be perfect — just do your best! I know it can be tricky if your pet is full of energy and never sits still.
